Commercial Feasibility Analysis of Healthy Product Patent Estate - United States

Company Need: Assess the overall business viability of a third-party owned, good-for-you line of commercial hand hygiene patents.

Approach: This year-long project required our Associates to review all elements of the business including patent's value proposition, ability to manufacture, sales force capabilities, research findings and marketing budgets to build awareness - all on a global basis.

Results: The investigation revealed that the patent estate could not be cost-effectively converted into a positive net present value outcome within the required payout period. The intended investment was put on hold, saving the company over $4 million. This both supported and justified the company''s new philosophy of caution in questionable new product development.
